Big 40 For Families Challenge

 

In One Family we are celebrating our 40th anniversary this year, 2012, and we are launching our Big 40 for Families Challenge to raise much-needed funds for our national helpline askonefamily.

If you are one of the hundreds of thousands of people we have ever helped over our 40 years, if you have ever lived in a one-parent or step-family, if you want to support us and help us fight for vulnerable families and family diversity then please give now.

We want 4,444 wonderful donors to help us reach our target of €64,000, which we will use to train up a team of volunteers, extend the opening hours of askonefamily and answer thousands more calls from all around Ireland.  You can give at whatever of these levels works for you:

40 donors of €400           =         €16,000

 

400 donors of €40           =         €16,000

As Budget 2012 hit one-parent families really hard we have been inundated by calls and emails from worried parents, many of whom were already in financial difficulty as one-parent families are four times more likely to live in poverty. askonefamily offers information and local referrals on a wide range of subjects as well as a listening and support service to anybody living in a one-parent family.

So we are asking those of you who are regular donors to give a little more if you can because it is our 40th anniversary and we are asking those of you who have never been able to give before to do your best to give us something now, no matter how small.
