The course is for people working with one-parent families and looks at how to build strong relationships with children and manage difficult behavior, leaving participants with the tools to design and deliver life-changing parenting courses. Funding for the project has been received from the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and also the European Social Fund (ESF) through the Human Capital Investment Operational Programme 2007-2013. Positive Parenting Course at One Family in May

One Family will be running another of their very popular Positive Parenting Courses for lone parents for seven weeks starting in May. The course covers everything from How To Be A Good Role Model For Your Children and Reasons Why Children Misbehave, to Active Listening and Assertive Parenting. Calling all parents!

One Family launch Positive Parenting Evening Classes.

One Family, based in Pembroke Street in Dublin 2, have launched a series of Positive Parenting evening classes for all parents. The One Family Positive Parenting programme will help parents manage their children’s behaviour and learn more effective parenting skills. The programme, consisting of 6 weekly classes, commences on 24 February and runs each Tuesday from 5.45 p m to 7.45 p m at One Family’s office at Cherish House, 2 Lower Pembroke Street, Dublin 2. Further programmes will run throughout 2009. Participation costs €120 and further details are available from One Family at 01 662 9212, by email to info@onefamily.ie or on www.onefamily.ie

Speaking at the launch of the One Family Positive Parenting Programme, Karen Kiernan , Director, One Family, said ‘Traditionally One Family has supported, and will continue to support, one-parent families for whom we run a variety of programmes. However, to meet the demand from all family types for our services we are introducing what is a very effective parenting programme led by our own staff.’

The One Family Positive Parenting Programme covers topics ranging from How Parents can be a Good Role Model for their children to reasons Why Children Misbehave, Active Listening and Assertive Parenting along with Handling Difficult Behaviour.

The first One Family Positive Parenting Programme commences on 24 February with subsequent programmes running from 5 May, 15 September and 3 November 2009.
